Supporting Global Growth.
We work with restaurant groups, international hotel brands and multi-site hospitality businesses to create toolkits that support expansion.
Some standards should remain consistent across the entire company. Others are brand-specific. Our role is to define the difference, ensuring teams understand the fundamentals while preserving what makes each brand unique.
This creates a framework that supports new openings, global rollouts and growing teams building brand equity at every touchpoint.

FAQs
The things you should know
What is a hospitality operations toolkit?
A hospitality operations toolkit is the system behind the experience. It gives teams the standards, SOPs, service guides and training materials they need to deliver the brand properly every day.
Some people call them brand standards. Some call them operations manuals. Some call them franchise manuals. We call them toolkits because they should be used, not admired from a folder nobody opens.
At Auden, we build toolkits for hotels, restaurants, bars and multi-site hospitality brands. That can include brand standards, sequence of service, guest rituals, SOPs, training guides, visual playbooks and digital training content.
We are currently creating toolkit work for brands including The Social Hub, Meliá Hotels, STiR scalable brands for Hilton, Gastronomica and Harrods.
How is an operations toolkit different from a traditional operations manual?
Traditional operations manuals are often where good intentions go to die. Too long. Too static. Too far away from the reality of service.
A toolkit is built for the way hospitality teams actually work. Clear pages. Shorter guidance. Visual references. Service flows. Briefing tools. Checklists. Editable documents.
The goal is not to write everything down for the sake of it. The goal is to make the right way of working easier to understand, train and repeat.
What should be included in a hotel F&B operations manual?
A hotel F&B operations manual should cover the standards, processes and service expectations that help teams deliver consistently across restaurants, bars, lounges, breakfast, events, room service and guest touchpoints.
That might include sequence of service, opening and closing procedures, guest journey standards, service language, product knowledge, menu guidance, upselling, complaint handling, team roles, daily checklists, hygiene standards, visual standards and manager routines.
But a good manual is not just a list of rules. It should show the team what good looks like, why it matters and how to deliver it when service gets busy.
Can Auden create SOPs for restaurants, bars and hotel F&B teams?
Yes. Auden creates SOPs for restaurants, bars, cafés, lounges, hotel F&B teams and multi-site hospitality brands.
We cover the practical stuff: front of house, back of house, service delivery, opening and closing, reservations, complaints, stock, handovers, manager checks and daily routines.
When we are involved in concept development or pre-opening, the toolkit often becomes part of the opening sequence. It gives the team the framework before the doors open, not six months after everyone has invented their own way of doing things.
We also work beyond hotels with multi-brand hospitality groups and operators looking to scale. The trick is knowing what should be shared across the business and what should stay brand-specific.
Why do hospitality businesses need service standards?
Because great service cannot depend on who happens to be on shift.
Service standards give teams a shared understanding of what good looks like. They protect the guest experience, make training easier and give managers something clear to coach against.
Auden brings experience from franchise, licensed and scalable hospitality brands, where consistency matters but blandness is the enemy. The aim is not to make every interaction robotic. It is to help brands grow without losing the detail, quality and personality that made them worth scaling in the first place.
What is a sequence of service?
A sequence of service is the flow of the guest experience from arrival to goodbye.
But if it is just a task list, it is not enough. At Auden, we use the guest journey to find the moments where the brand can come alive. A welcome ritual. A menu story. A service cue. A small detail guests remember after they leave.
The best sequence of service gives teams structure without stripping out personality. It helps service feel consistent, confident and human.
Can toolkits help with new hotel or restaurant openings?
Yes. A good toolkit gives a new opening its operating backbone before service starts.
It defines how the brand should be delivered, what needs to be trained, how the guest journey should work and what managers need to check before opening.
When Auden supports pre-opening, the toolkit shapes the training plan. It becomes the foundation for what we teach in the opening weeks and gives trainers the material they need to get teams ready.
For fast-moving openings, this matters. Otherwise the operation ends up scattered across decks, emails, WhatsApps and people’s heads.
Can Auden update our existing operations manuals?
Yes. Sometimes the job is not to create more documents. It is to make the documents you already have useful.
We review existing operations manuals, SOPs, service standards and training materials, then carry out a gap analysis. What is missing? What is outdated? What is repeated? What does nobody understand? What is written down but ignored in real life?
Our outside perspective helps. We ask the obvious questions. Often, they are the questions your own team has been asking quietly for years.
Then we simplify, challenge and rebuild the content into one clearer framework.
Are hospitality toolkits useful for multi-site brands?
Yes. Toolkits are especially useful for multi-site brands because they define what must stay consistent and what can flex.
Some standards belong across the whole business. Others need to protect the personality of each venue, concept or market.
This matters for hotel brands, restaurant groups, franchise businesses, licensed concepts and hospitality groups opening new sites or expanding internationally.
The point is not to make every site feel identical. The point is to protect the standards that matter while giving each brand enough room to breathe.
What is the difference between brand standards and SOPs?
Brand standards set the expectation. SOPs show the team how to deliver it.
Brand standards define the guest experience, behaviours, service style, tone, visual cues and moments that make the brand feel like itself.
SOPs are more practical. They are rooted in sequence and process, covering things like opening procedures, table maintenance, handovers, order taking, complaints and closing routines.
Both are needed. One defines the promise. The other makes it possible.
Can Auden create training materials as part of a toolkit?
Yes. Toolkits should not stop at written documents.
Auden can create onboarding guides, service training, product knowledge, manager briefing notes, team exercises, visual guides and digital learning materials.
With our in-house media team, we can also create training videos, recipe build videos and service content for learning management systems, kitchen display screens and internal platforms.
Not everyone needs a long manual. Sometimes the team needs a one-page guide, a short video or a visual reference they can use before service.
How does Auden create an operations toolkit?
We start by understanding the business, the brand and the reality of the floor.
That can mean reviewing existing documents, visiting venues, speaking with teams, mapping the guest journey, watching service and finding where consistency breaks down.
Then we build the toolkit around how the operation actually works. Not how it looks in theory.
Every document is delivered as a ready-to-use PDF and an editable file, so the toolkit can keep evolving as the business changes. We are not building shelfware. We are building live tools for real teams.
